These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and The Setup Social LLC, a California limited liability company (“The Setup Social,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). They govern your use of The Setup Social website, registration process, events, personality questionnaire, introductions, communications, and related services (collectively, the “Services”).
By accessing or using our Services, creating an account, registering for an event, purchasing a ticket, completing our questionnaire, or attending a The Setup Social event, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Services or attend our events.
The Setup Social is a social experience for singles that combines in-person social events with personality-based introductions.
We bring together groups of participants and use information provided during registration and through our personality questionnaire to facilitate introductions between participants during our events.
The Setup Social is not a therapist, counselor, security service, background-check service, or guarantor of any participant’s behavior, identity, intentions, background, or compatibility.
We do not conduct background checks on participants unless expressly stated otherwise for a particular event or service.
You must be at least 18 years old to use The Setup Social website or Services.
Individual events may have additional age requirements. Unless otherwise stated on the applicable event page, events held at venues requiring attendees to be 21 or older may be limited to participants age 21 and older.
Events may also have specific eligibility requirements relating to age range, relationship status, event format, or other factors relevant to that event. Any such requirements will be communicated on the applicable event page or during registration.
We may limit attendance based on event capacity, participant composition, age range, event format, venue requirements, or other reasonable operational considerations.
By registering for an event, you represent that you satisfy the eligibility requirements communicated for that event.
If you create an account or receive access to personalized features of the Services, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of your account and access credentials and for activity occurring through your account.
You agree to provide accurate and current information and not to create an account or register using another person’s identity.
Invitation links, registration links, access codes, or other personalized links provided to you are intended for your personal use unless we expressly state that they may be shared.
Please notify us promptly if you believe your account, credentials, or personalized access links have been accessed or used without your permission.
When you register for or participate in our Services, we may collect information including:

You agree not to register using another person’s identity or intentionally provide false or materially misleading registration information.

The Setup Social uses a personality-based questionnaire to better understand how participants tend to think, communicate, interact, and approach social situations.
The questionnaire is intended to help us understand who you are and how you tend to interact with people. It is not a psychological or clinical assessment, and it is not intended to determine who you should date or what another person should want in a relationship.
We may use questionnaire responses together with other relevant registration information to facilitate personality-based introductions during our events.
The format, number, and timing of introductions may vary depending on the event, attendance, available participants, and other circumstances.
Our matching process is intended to facilitate conversations and connections. It is not a guarantee of compatibility, attraction, chemistry, safety, friendship, dating success, or any other particular outcome.
During an event, The Setup Social may introduce you to other participants based on our personality-based matching process and other relevant event considerations.
The number, timing, and format of introductions may vary by event. Registration for an event does not guarantee any specific number of introductions.
An introduction does not constitute an endorsement, guarantee, recommendation, or representation regarding another participant’s character, intentions, identity, background, safety, or suitability.
You remain responsible for deciding whether, when, and how you wish to interact or communicate with another participant, both during and after an event.
Participants must behave respectfully toward other attendees, venue employees, The Setup Social staff, contractors, and vendors.

The Setup Social may refuse admission, end participation, or remove a participant from an event when we reasonably believe the participant has violated these Terms, our Community Guidelines, applicable venue rules, or applicable law.
A refund is not guaranteed when a participant is denied admission or removed because of conduct or a violation of these Terms.

We may suspend or terminate access to the Services where reasonably necessary to protect participants, our systems, our business, or third parties.
Unless expressly stated otherwise for a particular event, The Setup Social does not sell or provide alcoholic beverages as part of event admission.
Alcoholic beverages available at an event venue are purchased directly from and served by the venue.
The venue is responsible for its own alcohol sales, identification checks, alcohol service, refusal of service, and compliance with applicable alcohol laws.
Participants are responsible for their own alcohol consumption, behavior, and transportation decisions.
The Setup Social does not encourage excessive alcohol consumption.
If a participant appears intoxicated, disruptive, or otherwise unable to participate appropriately, The Setup Social may refuse admission or ask that person to leave the event.
The Setup Social events take place in active social, hospitality, and public environments.
Participation may involve ordinary risks associated with attending an event, including slips, falls, interactions with other attendees, transportation to and from the venue, food or beverage consumption, and other risks associated with the venue or event environment.
Participants are responsible for making their own decisions regarding participation, interactions with other attendees, transportation, food and beverage consumption, and activities before, during, and after an event.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to waive or limit rights or liabilities that cannot legally be waived or limited under applicable law.
The Setup Social does not guarantee that you will meet a romantic partner, experience mutual interest, receive a date, make friends, exchange contact information, receive a particular introduction, or achieve any particular relationship or social outcome.
Our role is to create a social environment and facilitate personality-based introductions.
Participants remain responsible for their own interactions, decisions, communications, and relationships.
The Setup Social events may be photographed or recorded for promotional, marketing, social media, website, advertising, and other business-related purposes.
By attending an event, you acknowledge that photography and video recording may occur.
Where reasonably practicable, The Setup Social may provide a process for participants to identify that they do not wish to appear in promotional photography or video. Participants who wish to opt out should follow the instructions communicated for the applicable event or notify The Setup Social staff.
We will make reasonable efforts to respect communicated opt-out requests, but cannot guarantee that an attendee will never appear incidentally in background or crowd footage.
Participants should not intentionally photograph or record another participant in a manner that violates that participant’s reasonable privacy expectations or our Community Guidelines.
Tickets must be purchased or reserved through the registration method designated for the applicable event.
Ticket prices, promotional pricing, discount codes, availability, and event capacity may change.
Unless expressly stated otherwise for a particular event, your ticket does not include alcoholic beverages.
Payments may be processed by third-party payment processors. You are responsible for providing accurate and authorized payment information.
The Setup Social does not necessarily receive or store your complete payment card information when transactions are processed by a third-party payment processor.
Ticket purchases are generally non-refundable unless otherwise stated at the time of purchase or required by applicable law.
We do not guarantee refunds based solely on dissatisfaction with another participant, an introduction, a lack of romantic interest or compatibility, the number of introductions received, or the outcome of an event.
If The Setup Social cancels an event, we may provide a refund, ticket transfer, event credit, or other remedy as communicated in connection with the cancellation, subject to applicable law.
Event details, including venue, timing, format, capacity, and programming, may occasionally change. When a material change occurs, we will make reasonable efforts to communicate it to registered participants.

Our events may take place at third-party venues, and our Services may use third-party registration, payment, communication, hosting, analytics, or technology providers.
Those third parties may have their own terms, policies, and practices.
The Setup Social is not responsible for the independent acts, omissions, policies, products, or services of third parties except to the extent required by applicable law.
Venue rules remain applicable while you are on venue property.
If you provide your phone number and expressly opt in to receive text messages from The Setup Social, you consent to receive text messages in accordance with the consent you provided.
Messages may include event information, reminders, registration updates, and other communications described when you opt in.
Message frequency may vary. Message and data rates may apply.
You may opt out of marketing or promotional text messages at any time by replying STOP. You may also contact us regarding your communication preferences.
Consent to receive promotional text messages is not a condition of purchasing a ticket or attending an event unless expressly permitted by applicable law.

Your questionnaire responses and profile information may be used to facilitate introductions and operate the Services as described in our Privacy Policy.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Services, website, events, questionnaire, matching process, and introductions are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
The Setup Social makes no guarantee that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, completely secure, or produce any particular social, romantic, or personal outcome.
We do not warrant or guarantee the accuracy, identity, intentions, behavior, background, statements, or conduct of participants.
Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or protections that cannot legally be excluded under applicable law.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, The Setup Social and its owners, members, officers, employees, contractors, and agents will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential damages arising from or relating to your use of the Services or participation in an event.
The Setup Social is not responsible for the independent conduct of participants or third parties except to the extent liability cannot legally be excluded or limited.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or limit liability for fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, or any other liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law.
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to our Services, events, business practices, or legal requirements.
The current version will be posted on our website with its effective date.
Where required by applicable law, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent to material changes.
Your continued use of the Services after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of those updated Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
