Community Guidelines

Effective date: September 24, 2026

Our goal is simple: create a room where people can actually meet each other.

The Setup Social is designed for adults who want to socialize, have conversations and meet people in person.

We expect everyone to treat other participants, staff and venue employees with respect.

Respect people’s boundaries

No means no.

Participants should respect another person’s boundaries, including physical, conversational and social boundaries.

Nobody is required to give you their phone number, Instagram, contact information or agree to another date or interaction.

No harassment

We do not allow:

Be honest

Participants are expected to provide accurate material information during registration.

Do not intentionally misrepresent your age, identity or relationship status.

Respect privacy

Do not share another participant’s phone number, email address, profile information, questionnaire responses or other personal information without permission.

Do not post screenshots of private conversations or identifying information about another participant without their permission.

Photography and recording

The Setup Social may take event photography and video for promotional purposes.

Participants should not intentionally record or photograph another attendee in a way that violates their privacy or makes them uncomfortable.

Alcohol

Alcohol is sold and served by the venue.

Participants are responsible for their own alcohol consumption and behavior.

The Setup Social does not provide alcohol as part of admission.

If alcohol or intoxication affects someone’s ability to participate appropriately, we may ask that person to leave.

Removal from events

The Setup Social may remove a participant when we reasonably believe their conduct violates these Community Guidelines or creates a disruptive or inappropriate environment.

Removal may occur without a refund.

Reporting a concern

If something happens that makes you uncomfortable or concerned, tell a member of The Setup Social team or venue staff as soon as reasonably possible.

You can also contact help@thesetup.social.

We will review concerns in good faith and take reasonable action based on the circumstances.

Participant responsibility

The Setup Social facilitates introductions between adults.

We do not control what participants say, do or represent about themselves before, during or after an event.

Our registration and event process is designed to organize participation and facilitate a social experience. It is not a guarantee that another participant is trustworthy, safe, compatible or appropriate for a particular person.

Participants should use their own judgment when deciding whether to continue communicating with someone after an introduction.

You should not share sensitive personal information, financial information, home address or other information with another participant unless you are comfortable doing so.

You are responsible for your own transportation decisions and personal safety.

The Setup Social does not guarantee the identity, character, intentions, compatibility, attraction or behavior of another participant.

The Setup Social does not guarantee that an introduction will lead to a date, relationship, friendship, mutual interest or any other outcome.

Questionnaire disclosure

Your questionnaire helps us understand aspects of your personality and interpersonal tendencies so that we can organize events and facilitate personality-based introductions.

The questionnaire is about who you are and how you tend to interact with others.

Your responses are used for The Setup Social’s event and matching purposes in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

The questionnaire is not a clinical or psychological assessment and does not guarantee a particular introduction or relationship outcome.
